Vocal Splitter

Split a video into silent video, instrumental, and vocals — three tracks from one clip.

What is Vocal Splitter?

Vocal Splitter takes a single video with audio and separates it into three usable pieces: the video with sound stripped out, an instrumental-only audio track, and an isolated vocal track.

It's built on the same stem-separation technology BeatShort uses for beat analysis, just pointed at a full video instead of a music file.

How it works

  1. 1

    Import a video

Any clip with a music or vocal track works — a cover, a recorded performance, a clip with background music.

  2. 2

    Run the split

BeatShort separates the audio into instrumental and vocal stems while keeping the original video.

  3. 3

    Pick what you need

Keep the silent video to re-score it, the instrumental to remix, or the vocals to isolate a performance.

Who it's for

Cover singers

Pull a clean instrumental from a reference video to sing over.

Podcast clippers

Strip background music from a clip before repurposing the dialogue.

Remix creators

Isolate vocals from a performance clip to lay over a new beat.

FAQ

Does this work on any video with sound?
It works best on videos with a clear music/vocal mix — heavily layered audio (crowd noise, multiple speakers) separates less cleanly.
How is this different from Stem Separation in Audio Studio?
Stem Separation (in the web Audio Studio) splits an audio file into 4 stems; Vocal Splitter works on a video file and keeps the silent video track alongside 2 audio stems.
