Aspect Ratio

Reframe a video to 9:16, 16:9, 1:1, or 4:5 without stretching it.

What is Aspect Ratio?

Aspect Ratio reframes a clip to fit a new shape by cropping and repositioning rather than stretching the image, so proportions stay correct.

4 target ratios: 9:16 (1080×1920) for TikTok/Reels/Shorts, 16:9 (1920×1080) for widescreen, 1:1 (1080×1080) for square feed posts, and 4:5 (1080×1350) — the taller portrait ratio Instagram uses for regular feed posts, which takes up more scroll space than a square post.

How it works

  1. 1

    Import the clip

Works on any source aspect ratio.

  2. 2

    Pick the target ratio

    9:16, 16:9, 1:1, or 4:5.

  3. 3

    Reposition the crop

Drag to keep the subject centered in the new frame.

  4. 4

    Export

Save the reframed clip at the new ratio.

Who it's for

Cross-posting creators

Turn one 16:9 landscape clip into a 9:16 vertical cut for TikTok/Reels/Shorts.

Square-feed posts

Reframe to 1:1 for feed posts instead of Stories.

Instagram feed posts

Use 4:5 instead of 1:1 or 9:16 — it fills more of the feed as people scroll past, which 1:1 doesn't.

FAQ

Will this stretch or distort my video?
No — it crops and repositions rather than stretching, so proportions stay correct.
9:16 vs 4:5 — which should I use for Instagram?
9:16 for Reels and Stories (full-screen vertical). 4:5 for a regular feed post — it's shorter than 9:16 but still taller than a 1:1 square, and Instagram's feed algorithm gives it more vertical space than a square post.
