Remove, replace, color-fill, or blur a video's background — no green screen required.

What is Remove Background?

Remove Background detects the main subject in your footage and cuts, replaces, recolors, or blurs everything behind them — the same idea as a green screen, but without needing an actual green screen.

There are 4 modes, not just an on/off toggle. Remove cuts the background entirely (transparent). Replace swaps it for one of a built-in library of preset backgrounds (gradients and scenes). Color fills it with a single flat color you pick by hex code — useful for a clean, on-brand solid background. Blur keeps the real background but softens it so the subject stays the focus.

It works frame-by-frame across the whole clip, so the subject stays cut out correctly even as they move.

How it works

Import your clip
Pick any video with a clear main subject (person, product, pet).

Choose a mode
Remove (transparent), Replace (preset background library), Color (flat hex color), or Blur.

Preview and adjust edges
Check subject edges in the preview, especially around hair and fast motion.

Export
Render the result back into your project or as a standalone clip.
